To encourage a healthy, active lifestyle, NTU has a variety of outdoor and indoor sports facilities, including a gymnasium, a running track, outdoor and indoor heated swimming pools, as well as courts for basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, tennis, baseball, softball, handball, and squash. NTU students can also borrow most sports equipment free of charge.
Health Center
NTU has an on-campus Health Center that – on top of Taiwan’s affordable universal health care – provides low copay fees and ease of access exclusive to NTU students and faculty. In addition to providing primary care by experienced general practice doctors, the Health Center has experts from other fields of medicine such as dentistry and dermatology to provide high-quality medical services.
Counseling Center
The NTU Student Counseling Center employs professional psychologists and social workers and works to promote students’ mental health and psychological well-being. Furthermore, in efforts to provide an inclusive and comfortable environment for students seeking assistance, counseling is available in both Chinese and English. The center is also home to the Office of Disability Support Services, which works to make higher education more accessible to all.
NTU Experimental Farm
Despite its urban location, the NTU Main Campus has numerous greenhouses, farmlands, and even a livestock farm with cattles and pigs. The Farm supports a wide range of experiments and research; it carries out around 80 projects each year. Students taking class from the College of Bio-resources and Agriculture can participate in hands-on research projects without leaving the campus.
All students can purchase products produced by NTU Farm at the Agricultural Products Sale Center. Popular products include fresh milk, yogurt, soy milk, ice cream sandwich, popsicles, fresh vegetables, handmade soap, and more.
